We generally do not recommend using a treadmill on carpet for several reasons.
- Stability: Treadmills require a stable surface to operate safely. Carpets, especially plush or thick ones, may not provide the necessary stability, leading to potential wobbling or unevenness during use.
- Wear and Tear: Carpets can wear down more quickly under the weight and friction of a treadmill. This can result in uneven surfaces over time, which may pose a tripping hazard or affect the treadmill's performance.
- Maintenance: Carpets can trap dust, debris, and moisture, which may affect the treadmill's mechanical components over time. Additionally, cleaning under and around the treadmill becomes more challenging when it's placed on carpet.
For optimal performance, safety, and longevity of your treadmill, we recommend placing it on a hard, flat surface such as hardwood, laminate, or rubber gym flooring. If you do not have access to such a surface, consider using a treadmill mat specifically designed to protect both your flooring and the treadmill itself.
